(VINCENNES) - A Loogootee man was arrested in connect with a June 29th sexual assault in Vincennes.
According to Vincennes City Police Detectives officers were called at 4 a.m. to the 1000 block of Sycamore Street after a woman reported she had been sexually assaulted. The victim implicated a then-unknown couple she met at Old Towne Tavern the weekend of June 28-29.
A subsequent investigation and information provided by the public led to the identity of a couple alleged to be a party to the incident.
Police arrested 30-year-old Mitchel Cunningham, of 805 Reason Ave., in Loogootee on Thursday. He is charged with rape and criminal confinement. He is being held on a $15,000 bond pending his court appearance.
