(BEDFORD) - The Youth Board of Bertha’s Mission is inviting the community to a free back-to-school picnic Saturday at Dive Christian Church from 4-9 p.m.
In addition to free food and games, local singers Sable Dalton and Madelyn Deckard will perform from 7-9 p.m. Dive Church, at 892 Peerless Road, has a large playground for kids, too. The youth board is looking for more teens to volunteer at the Fifth Street community kitchen.
Janice Nickeo, Bertha's Mission founder and director, says the young volunteers are a blessing at the kitchen that offers free meals to anyone three days a week.
