(BEDFORD) - The Bedford Public Library celebrates July 23, as Batman Day. Seventy-five years ago on this date, Batman made his first appearance in Detective Comics No. 27.
This milestone anniversary will be recognized at libraries and bookstores across the country.
The library's graphic novel collections will be highlighted with special displays and giveaways. The library will distribute posters, tattoos, bookmarks, bags and masks while supplies last.
Super Heroes
Super Heroes Storytime for infants and toddlers is at 9:30 a.m. Thursday followed by Super Heroes Fun for ages preschool through third grade at 10 a.m. Super hero stories, crafts and activities are on the agenda.
Summer Reading
One week remains for participants in the Summer Reading Challenge to earn the Golden Ticket to the Mike Hemmelgarn Comedy Juggler Ventriloquist Show on July 24. There is still time for children to register and to earn the Golden Ticket. Call the library for more information at 275-4471.
