(BEDFORD) - Two people were arrested Wednesday night on warrants after they attempted to smuggle drugs into the Lawrence County Jail.
20-year-old Danielle Chance is accused of sending photos with suboxone glued into the layers of the photos to her boyfriend 24-year-old Justin Garrison.
Suboxone is used to treat opiate addiction.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, a warrant was issued for both and served on Wednesday.
Chance is facing charges of trafficking with an inmate and possession of a schedule III controlled substance.
Garrison, who was in jail for a probation violation, possession of meth and marijuana charges and maintaining a common nuisance, is now facing charges of attempting to receive a controlled substance.
Chance was to appear in court this morning to face drug charges after she and Garrison were arrested on February 23.
The two were in a vehicle on 16th Street when a Lawrence County police officer noticed Garrison driving the vehicle. Garrison was wanted on a warrant to revoke his probation.
After stopping the vehicle at 16th and Beech streets, officers arrested Garrison on the warrant and had a police dog walk around the vehicle. The dog alerted officers that there were drugs in the car.
Officers found meth, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Garrison was then charged with possession of meth and marijuana, maintaining a common nuisance.
His passenger, Chance, was charged with visiting a common nuisance and possession of marijuana and meth.
