Police Looking For Driver Of Fatal Hit-And-Run Accident

(BROWN CO.) - Brown County deputies are looking for leads in a hit-and-run case over the weekend that left a man dead.

According to the sheriff's department, 36-year-old Chad Demuth from Kentucky was found dead on State Road 135 near Hurdle Road early Sunday morning.

Sheriff Rick Followell reports that at some time between 12:20 a.m. and 2:20 a.m. Sunday morning, Demuth was hit, but the driver of the vehicle did not stop.

Demuth is believed to have been walking away from Bill Monroe Music Park after attending the John Hartford Memorial Festival.

Deputies are searching for additional witnesses, the vehicle, and the driver of the vehicle involved. They are asking anyone who has information to contact the Sheriff's Office at (812) 988-6655 or by leaving a message on the TIP line at (812) 988-6620.
