(BEDFORD) - North Lawrence Community School Treasurer Michele Cox has been attempting to collect money owned for book rental and other fees since March.
There were 300 students for whom textbook rental and fees were outstanding.
Through phone calls made to parents Cox says they have been able to reduce the amount owed from the recent school year from about $74,000 to about $27,000. She says those that remain unpaid after a specified deadline will be sent to small claims court.
