(MITCHELL) - The Mitchell Community Public Library recently received 10 hand-crafted Little Free Library units and is looking for organizations to decorate them.

For those unfamiliar with the Little Free Libraries, they operate under the "take a book, return a book" concept and can serve as a gathering place where neighbors share their favorite literature and stories. In its most basic form, a Little Free Library is a box full of books where you can stop by and pick up a book and bring back another book to share. It is hoped that the Little Free Libraries will serve as a hub for the community, increasing access to literature for all ages.

In a few months, these hand-crafted Little Free Libraries will be popping up around Spice Valley, Marion and Bono townships, stocked with free books for children and adults. Don't miss out on this opportunity to make a positive impact on your own backyard.

Organizations interested in applying to adopt a unit can apply online at or in person at the library.

The library has added a Windows 8 training station to its public computer offerings. Patron's interested in learning about the Windows 8 operating system can schedule a one-on-one training session with a staff member or can register for a self-led training through the library's subscription to Custom GuidesThose with questions or wanting register for training, contact the library at 849-2412 or
