(GREENE CO. ) - A Linton woman was arrested Thursday after police received several calls about an unruly woman at the Linton Moose Lodge.

When police arrived they found 53-year-old Jacquelyn Akers, of Linton, leaning on a car that did not belong, being loud and attempting to prevent several people from trying to enter the Lodge.

Police asked Akers to perform a field sobriety test, she refused saying she was drunk.

She was then arrested after police found numerous pills identified as Alprazolam, a schedule IV controlled substance in her cigarette pack.
Akers then resisted police as they were putting her in the police car and continued to be loud and abusive. In route to the Greene County Jail, Akers was able to remove her seat belt and began moving around in the vehicle. Police stopped and requested backup. Officers removed Akers from the vehicle and she began to kick the officer and continued to yell and scream profanities and rolling on the ground.

After being placed back into a patrol car, she began kicking the door.

Once arriving at jail, the jail staff requested Goodman be taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation. Akers continued to fight with police who then secured her arms and legs and transported her to the hospital. After driving about two blocks from the jail, Akers had removed one of her arms from the mechanical restraints and was trying to free herself from the other restraints.

Police returned to the jail to place Akers in different restrains.

Once at the jail, Akers attempted to bite officers and kicked an Indiana State trooper in the thigh as he assisted in restraining Akers.

Akers was taken to the hospital and was medically cleared and returned to jail.

Akers faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, resisting law enforcement, two counts of battery without injury where the victim is a law enforcement officer and public intoxication that endangers the person's life.
