Last updated on Wednesday, June 18, 2014

(GREENE CO.) - The Greene County Foundation is now accepting applications from non-profit organizations interested in receiving one of the Foundation’s Community Support grants this year.

The grant cycle for 2014 is open until the application deadline on July 22 and the Foundation is offering a workshop on June 24 to answer questions and assist those interested in applying for a grant.

Since 2006, the Foundation has awarded over 1.5 million in grants to local non-for-profits and community causes.

In the last two years, over $65,000 in Community Support Grants were awarded during this annual cycle thanks to the following funds: Foundation 500 Fund, Walter & Katherine Burcham Fund, Mable and Milton Meek Fund, Kramer Fund, Smithville Charitable Foundation Fund, Bill and Linda Haseman Fund, Randall and Edna Inman Fund, Hildebrand Family Fund, Sherman Anderson Fund, Frank Miller Fund and the Greene County Foundation Community Support Fund.

The grant application process is open to all Greene County not-for-profits, or those serving Greene County.

A new addition to the grant awards this year is a special category that encourages local youth to address a community need, and a match for those wishing to build their endowment fund at the Foundation.

The full outline of grant criteria can be found on the Greene County Foundation website at www.greenecountyfoundation.org.

The mission of the Greene County Foundation is to inspire individuals to engage in improving Greene County now and for generations to come and the Foundation has had a philanthropic impact on every school, town, city and informal community in Greene County through multiple forms of donation such as permanent endowments, special projects funds, trusts, memorials and honoraria.
