Get Outdoors June 14 With Kids Hike At Paynetown

Last updated on Thursday, June 5, 2014

(PAYNETOWN) - Naturalist Jill Vance will lead a special hike for children at Paynetown State Recreation Area on Saturday, June 14 at 3 p.m.

The hike, which is recommended for ages 3 to 12, celebrates National Get Outdoors Day.

During the 60-minute hike, children will explore the woods, roll over logs, examine trees, and take a closer look at an old field. Along the way, they'll collect items for a special nature mobile, which they'll assemble as a memento at the end of the hike.

The hike is free, and no registration is required. Children, who must be accompanied by an adult, should meet Vance at the Overflow Parking Area inside Paynetown SRA, which is on the right after passing the entrance gatehouse.
