Fire Damages Mitchell Apartment Complex

(MITCHELL) - Fire damaged two apartments at the southeast corner of Fourth and Warren streets in Mitchell Friday. The Mitchell Volunteer Fire Department battled the blaze just before noon and had the fire out quickly.

Mitchell VFD Chief Tyler Duncan says the fire damaged apartments upstairs and breached into the trees.

No one was hurt and one of the residents was not home when the fire started.

The apartment building is owned by John Gass. The cause of the fire is under investigation

Mitchell VFD was assisted by Marion VFD firefighters.
