NSWC Crane to Hold Change of Command Ceremony

(CRANE) - The leadership of Crane Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center will conduct a Change of Command Ceremony on Friday at 10 a.m.

Captain Jeffrey T. Elder, USN, will accept leadership of NSWC Crane Command from Colonel Alan M. Pratt, USMC.

Colonel Pratt is retiring from military service after 30 years in the Marine Corps.
Congressman Larry Bucshon, Indiana's 8th District, and Rear Admiral Lawrence Creevy, Commander, Naval Surface Warfare Center, will be the guest speakers for the ceremony. Other special guests expected to attend include Representative Mark Messmer, District 63, State Senator Jim Tomes, District 49, and Mayor of Indianapolis Greg Ballard.

Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane (NSWC Crane) is the largest tenant command located on Naval Support Activity Crane (NSA Crane) with approximately 3000 civilian employees. NSA Crane is one of the largest employers in southwestern Indiana putting over $2M a day into the Indiana economy. NSWC Crane is a naval laboratory and a field activity of Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) with focus areas in Special Missions, Strategic Missions and Electronic Warfare.
