(BLOOMINGTON) - A celebration of the life of the late Monroe County Recorder Jim Fielder will be 4-6 p.m. June 13 in the Monroe County Courthouse rotunda.

The event will be informal with opportunities for people to share memories of Fielder.

Fielder died unexpectedly May 24 in his home. Coroner Nicole Meyer says Fielder hadn't been feeling well and when friends checked, they found him dead.

Fielder spent a total of 35 years serving in county government, serving as clerk for four non-consecutive terms and recorder for three non-consecutive terms, including the current one.
