(BEDFORD) - Director of Bedford Utilities Director Misty Adams says Bedford is the only municipal utility in the state that still runs clean-out tools through private lines.
City crews ran 463 private lines in 2013, 431 in 2012 and 597 in 2001. That is about to change.
The Board of Works voted that homes and businesses will now be responsible for those main lines. The change in policy will take effect August 1. Notices will be sent out to customers noting the change.
