Bug Fest 2014 Slated For June 28

(BLOOMINGTON) - If you've always wanted to try cockroach races, cricket spitting or learn more about dragonflies, bees or butterflies, then you'll want to attend Bug Fest 2014 on June 28.

Open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hilltop Garden and Nature Center in Bloomington, Bug Fest will have special speakers, music, games, crafts and food for people of all ages.

The mission of Bug Fest is to educate people about a wide array of insects and spiders. Featured speakers will include Leslie Bishop, a retired professor at Earlham College, talking about spiders; Tom Turpin, a professor at Purdue, talking about edible insects; biologist Tom Swinford talking about dragonflies; naturalist and master gardener Sandy Belth talking about Monarch butterflies; and George Hegeman talking about bees.
