Bridge Work Begins On Ind. 37

Last updated on Monday, June 2, 2014

(BEDFORD) - The Indiana Department of Transportation is announcing that beginning on or after Monday, June 9, bridge deck rehabilitation work will begin on State Road 37 north of Bedford.

Contractor's crews will be replacing the bridge deck on two structures, 0.2 and 0.62 miles north of S.R. 58 over Salt Creek. In order to maintain a safe work zone, one lane in each direction will be closed at a time. There will also be a 17-foot width restriction in place.

The contract was awarded to Schutt-Lookabill Company, Inc. Indianapolis, in April of this year for $2.8 million. It is estimated the project will be complete in September 2015, weather permitting.

INDOT reminds motorists to follow the posted work zone speed limit, use caution and consider worker safety when traveling through a work zone. For the latest news and information about INDOT, please visit www.in.gov/indot.
