Bedford Man Arrested After Throwing Fit At IU Health Hospital

Last updated on Thursday, June 5, 2014

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested Tuesday morning after he had gone to a doctor at IU Health Hospital for treatment for an injury and didn’t receive the treatment he wanted.

According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, 26-year-old Christopher Sallade became irate and began throwing chairs in the waiting room and cursing.

"He didn't get the treatment he wanted and became verbally abusive, cursing and screaming and throwing things," added Parsley. "He had been to the emergency room the night before and didn't get the treatment there he wanted, so he made an appointment with his doctor."

After throwing the fit in the doctor's office, Sallade, left the hospital and continued to scream and curse in the parking lot.

"He then got into his truck and was driving recklessly," Parsley added. "He almost hit a couple of pedestrians and jumped the curb and was driving in a grassy area."

An off-duty Bedford officer approached Sallade and detained him until uniform officers arrived.

"He was asked numerous times to calm down and he refused, continuing to be verbally abusive," Parsley says. "He was beating on the hood of his truck and screaming obscenities."

Sallade was then arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and criminal recklessness with a vehicle.
