Bedford Man Arrested After K-9 Alerts Officers To Drugs

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested after officers stopped him for excessive speed on Tunnelton and Pinhook Road Monday night.

According to Sheriff Sam Craig, an officer suspected drugs in the vehicle and called a K-9 to the scene. The K-9 alerted the officer that there were drugs in the vehicle.

Officers arrested 33-year-old Stephen Root after finding marijuana and prescriptions drugs.

Root is facing charges of possession of marijuana under 30 grams, possession of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of a schedule IV controlled substance and two counts of possession of a legend drug.
