(ORLEANS) - A 16-year-old Riley Holland of Orleans was injured after he flipped his vehicle Monday night.
According to an Orleans Police Department press release, Holland was traveling south on Sixth Street in Orleans when the 2000 Pontiac Grand Am he was driving hydroplaned on standing water, causing Holland to lose control of the car.
The car went off the east side of the road, Holland overcorrected and the car then went off the west side of the road and struck a Duke Energy pole knocking it completely out of the ground.
The car came to a stop upside down on the west side of the road.
Holland suffered head injuries and complained of leg pain. He was taken to IU Health Paoli Hospital for treatment.
Duke Energy responded to the scene to replace the broken pole and remove downed electric lines from the road.
Orleans Police were assisted at the scene by IU Health Paoli ambulance, Orleans Fire Department and Orange County Rural District 2 Fire Department.
