Woman Arrested On Battery Charges

(NEWBERRY) - A woman was arrested Sunday after she got into a fight with her live-in ex-boyfriend and battered him in front of two children.

According to Investigating Officer Deputy Jeffrey Brown, of the Greene County Sheriff's Department, Oliphant and her live-in ex-boyfriend got into an argument over the placement of her belongings and she began hitting him.

Brown added that the children were not harmed during the incident and that alcohol was a factor.

Oliphant faces preliminary charges of domestic battery in the presence of a minor, a class D felony, and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor.

Deputy Davis Aerne and Greene County Ambulance Services assisted at the scene.
