Last updated on Monday, May 19, 2014

(WILLIAMS) - A Williams man was tased and arrested after he refused to cooperate with police.

Officers were called to a home in Williams after attempting to serve a court order about a child's welfare.

30-year-old Daniel Todd is now facing charges of resisting arrest by force, disorderly conduct and battery on an officer.

According to Sheriff Sam Craig, officers went to the home on Hendrickson Lane Thursday with an employee of the Department of Child Services Police to serve a court order to allow the DCS caseworker to speak to a child and check out the home.

Todd knew about the court order and he became threatening and told officers and the DCS worker to leave his property. Todd then ripped up the court order.

Officers told Todd he had to comply with the court order. That is when Todd came at one of the officers and there was a physical altercation and Todd was tasered.

He was then arrested, taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation and then taken to jail.
