(WASHINGTON) - Washington Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 101 will host its 14th annual law enforcement memorial at 1 p.m. Thursday.

The service will be at the Daviess County Courthouse to pay tribute to the law enforcement officers who have given their lives in the line of duty.

In 2013, 111 federal, state, county, city officers and firefighters died while protecting the citizens they served. All of these brave souls are being honored by having their names added to the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington, D.C., during this year's service.

Over the years, 19,500 law enforcement officers have paid the supreme sacrifice. In Indiana one officer was killed in the line of duty and two firefighters died while serving their communities.

They will be recognized at the service by having their names read aloud as the Washington Fire Department bell tolls 21 times in their honor.

TAPS will echo and the bagpiper will also play as local law enforcement officers and firefighters, along with members of the community, salute them.

The service will begin with the national anthem performed by the Washington High School choir. The Washington High School NJROTC will raise the colors.

The invocation by FOP Chaplain Steve Dayton, a proclamation from Washington Mayor Joe Wellman, then roll call will follow. The public is invited and encouraged to attend this program.
