Last updated on Tuesday, May 13, 2014

(DAVIESS COUNTY) - A traffic accident Wednesday afternoon claimed the life of DLC Media General Manager Brad Deetz.

The Daviess County Sheriff's Office reports 46-year-old Deetz of Vincennes was driving a 2008 Yamaha motorcycle on Old U.S. 50E when the bike collided with a truck pulling a trailer at the intersection of County Road 150 West.

According to police, the driver of the truck Ernest Colbert was stopped at the stop sign and did not see the oncoming motorcycle when he pulled the truck into the road striking Deetz with the front passenger side wheel of the pickup truck.

Deetz was thrown from the motorcycle into the ditch. Deetz was taken to Daviess Community Hospital and then flown to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis where he later died.

Deetz was the morning radio host at WFML-FM in Washington. He also served as a reserve deputy for the Knox County Sheriff's Department.
