Trial Date Set In Lauren Spierer Wrongful Death Lawsuit

Last updated on Thursday, May 1, 2014

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Federal Judge Tim A. Baker has set a jury trial date in the wrongful death lawsuit the parents of Lauren Spierer filed against former IU students Jason Rosenbaum and Corey Rossman.

The lawsuit was originally filed last June in U.S. District Court. The parents of 20-year-old Lauren Spierer claimed Rosenbaum and Rossman owed her a "duty of care."

They are determined to find out what happened to their daughter the night the Indiana University student disappeared from downtown Bloomington nearly three years ago.

Rossman said he "had no control or right of control" over Spierer, who disappeared June 3, 2011, after partying with friends in Bloomington.

The court says the jury trial will begin on May 4, 2015 at 9 a.m.
