School Bus Driver Injured In Crash

(BEDFORD) - A Mitchell Community School bus driver suffered minor injuries after a motorist pulled into the path of the school bus Tuesday afternoon.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 68-year-old Morris Chastain was stopped at the stop sign of Yockey Road and Old Ind. 37 and had pulled into the intersection when the 1998 International school bus was hit on the side by a 1996 Ford Ranger driven by 22-year-old Zachariah Davis of Persimmon Ridge Acres.

According to police, Davis was traveling north on Old Ind. 37 when he pulled into the path of the school bus.

Chastain suffered minor bleeding to his arm and elbow. Davis was not injured. There were two student on the bus, but they were not injured.

Davis was cited for driving while his driver's license was suspended.
