(LYONS) - Olivia Myers has been selected as the Lyons Strawberry Festival Queen for 2014 and will reign over this year’s annual festival.
Myers is a student at White River Valley Lyons Elementary School and was crowned last week by Lyons Councilwoman Michelle Emmons.
The festival queen is chosen based on their academic achievement - the queen is always the sixth-grade girl with the highest grade-point average at the local school.
The award was presented during the Lyons Town Council meeting on May 13.
Myers will be participating in the Strawberry Festival in Lyons on June 1.
