(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington police say a male with a machete robbed a gas station of cash early Tuesday morning.

A clerk reported the armed robbery at the Marathon gas station, in the 1700 block of North Kinser Pike at 12:51 a.m.

The clerk told police the man pulled a machete from his hooded sweatshirt, threatened the clerk and demanded cash.

The clerk complied and the man fled.

The suspect was described as being a 5-foot-10-inch tall black male, in his late teens or early 20s, with a slim build. He wore a gray hooded sweatshirt with a zipper, blue jeans and dark-colored shoes.

Police released photographs of the robbery suspect, taken from gas station security footage.

Anyone with information can call Detective Steve Reynolds at 812-349-3363.
