Last updated on Thursday, May 22, 2014

(LINTON) - 33-year-old Matthew Rodriguez of Linton was arrested Monday night on a warrant for failure to appear for a court on a charge of driving while his driver’s license was suspended with a prior conviction.

Linton Detective Sergeant Josh Goodman and Sergeant Chad Crynes were on routine patrol shortly before 11 p.m. Monday when they saw Rodriguez walking south along South Main Street. They knew Rodriguez was wanted on a warrant so they stopped him.

During the arrest officers found Rodriguez had a bag containing two types of pills a schedule II controlled substance and the other a schedule IV controlled substance. He also had a smoking device and a bag of a synthetic controlled substance.

He is now facing additional felony charges of two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
