(BEDFORD) - The Lawrence County Police Department is investigating the theft of pop from a vending machine at the jail.
According to Sheriff Sam Craig, an inmate allegedly broke into the machine and stole several cans of pop and then passed them out to other inmates.
"The case is under investigation," Craig says. "The inmate that stole the pop is looking at theft charges and the ones that received it could be charged with receiving stolen property."
Once the investigation is completed the information will be passed on to the prosecutor's office.
