(UNDATED) - The Indiana Supreme Court is asking for the public's input as it reviews the guidelines for determining child support.

Federal law requires the state review its child support guidelines every four years. The guidelines are used to determine the amount of child support to be paid in divorces, paternity cases and legal separations.

The committee is inviting child and family advocacy groups, attorneys, members of the public and parents to a public hearing Friday to voice their suggestions.

The public can also submit comments online at All comments must be posted by May 27.

The Domestic Relations Committee will review those comments, draft changes and revisions and will then post their findings online for more public comment.

A final draft will then be submitted to the Indiana Supreme Court for approval.
