Bedford Woman Arrested Twice Within 5 Hours

Last updated on Tuesday, May 13, 2014

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford woman was arrested not once, but twice this weekend.

44-year-old Sonya Lagle was arrested Friday night after Bedford Police received a call from an employee at CVS Pharmacy reporting a woman had stolen several items from the pharmacy. When police arrived they found Lagle in the parking lot.

"Officers recovered several items she had taken from the store," says BPD Assistant Chief Joe DeWees. "They also discovered 5 capsule-type pills in her purse that ended up being a legend drug."

Lagle was arrested on charges of theft and possession of a legend drug. She posted a $755 bond and five hours later she was arrested on drug charges.

According to DeWees, an officer spotted Lagle driving on Oolitic Road, near Rawlins Road and knew she didn't have a valid driver's license.

During the traffic stop a K-9 alerted police there were drugs in the vehicle. Officers discovered meth and drug paraphernalia.

Lagle was arrested on charges of possession of meth and drug paraphernalia and cited for driving while her driver's license was suspended.

She is being held at the Lawrence County Jail on no bond, because she was out on bond after the first arrest.
