Last updated on Friday, May 30, 2014

(BEDFORD) - The Bedford Public Library’s Summer Reading Challenge begins on Monday.

Children up to age 17 are encouraged to participate in the free summer reading challenge, which provides prizes for reading. Everyone who completes the challenge will receive a golden ticket to the comedy juggler ventriloquist show in late July. Parents or caregivers of ticket holders will be admitted free.

The library will host a Summer Reading Festival on June 6 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the library parking lot. The event is free to attend.

The library has more than two dozen special programs scheduled for the summer in support of summer reading. The programs include WonderLab, Indiana Jim and Python Pam, a puppet show, two puppet-making workshops and many other fun and educational events.
