Two Arrested After Police Find Meth

(BEDFORD) — Two people were arrested for dealing meth after the vehicle one of them was driving was pulled over for running a stop sign Thursday night.

Both 22-year-old Cecily Conn, of 2116 Pinhook Road, and 35-year-old Kalib McPike, of 1863 Avoca-Eureka Road, were booked arrested on charges of dealing meth with a firearm, two charges of dealing meth, possession of more than 3 grams of meth, possession of meth with a firearm, two charges of maintaining a common nuisance, possession of paraphernalia and possession of less than 30 grams of marijuana.

Bedford Police officers pulled over the 2001 Dodge truck being driven by McPike after he disregarded a stop sign at State Road 37 and Art Gallery Road at 10:02 p.m. The truck stopped at State Road 37 and U.S. 50 West.

"Sometimes investigations take us outside of city limits," Assistant Chief Joe DeWees said. "We have statewide jurisdiction."
Officers spoke to McPike and asked him to step out of the vehicle. When officers approached the vehicle they could smell the odor of burnt marijuana. When Cecily (Conn) stepped out, an orange colored baggy and a razor dropped."

A police dog then alerted police there were drugs inside the truck.

Officers found drug paraphernalia including a glass smoking device with a white powder in it and they found marijuana in a package of cigarettes.

"While being booked into jail, officers also found Conn had concealed a baggy of meth on her person," DeWees said.

Details about the firearm charges were not included in the report.
