Volunteers Needed To Repair Mitchell Memorial Park Playground Equipment

Last updated on Wednesday, April 30, 2014

(MITCHELL) - Volunteers are needed to help repair and spruce up the playground equipment at the Mitchell Memorial Park.

Thanks to a matching grant from the Lawrence County Community Foundation, money is now available to get the playground equipment ready for children to enjoy this summer.

A work day is scheduled for 8 a.m. until noon on Saturday, May 3.

Volunteers are asked to gather at the playground that morning to help screw boards, tighten bolts, scrape paint, apply new paint and spread mulch.

The congregation of the First Christian Church in Mitchell will be providing drinks and breakfast for volunteers.

There will be jobs for both skilled and non-skilled workers, so anyone wishing to help is welcome.
