Last updated on Friday, April 4, 2014

(SALEM) - A Salem man was arrested by U.S. Federal Marshal Wednesday night after he allegedly threatened to harm a deputy.

26-year-old Dustin W. Spicer of Salem is facing felony charges of intimidation.

Police says Spicer allegedly made threats via a social media website that he was going to do bodily harm to a Washington County Deputy.

The alleged threats came after the Washington County Sheriff's Department arrested one of Dustin's family members.

The threats began around March 1st and the Washington County Sheriff's Department requested the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg initiate an investigation.

On March 7th, officers from the Indiana State Police and Washington County Sheriff's Department served a search warrant at a residence at 2935 Mt. Tabor Road in Salem.

Dustin Spicer was not at the home during the search and an arrest warrant was sought for his arrest through the Washington County Courts. On March 10th, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Spicer was arrested Wednesday and taken to the Washington County Jail.
