(MARTINSVILLE) - A Paragon man was killed after he crashed his vehicle into a tree on Henderson Ford Road in Martinsville Friday afternoon.
26-year-old Steven Allison of Paragon died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.
The crash occurred around 3:45 p.m. about a block south of the Centerton and Henderson Ford Road intersection. Rescue crews from the Brooklyn Fire Department had free Allison from the wreckage.
Allison was then transported by a Brown Township Ambulance crew to Centerton Elementary School to meet a Lifeline Helicopter. The Mooresville Fire Department set up the landing zone behind the school. But before the helicopter could take off Allison was pronounced dead.
The accident is being investigated by the Indiana State Police with assistance from the Morgan County Sheriff's Department.
