Lawrence County Soil & Water Conservation Sponsoring Wildlife Food Plot Program

(BEDFORD) - The Lawrence County Soil & Water Conservation District is sponsoring a wildlife food plot program.

The bags of seed -- which contain wheat, turnips, sunflowers, alfalfa, white and red clover, buck wheat, soybean, corn and sorghum -- are being distributed throughout southern Indiana by local soil and water conservation districts.

The seeds have been treated with insecticide or fungicide. It is not to be used in bird feeders.

It is recommended that it be planted in odd areas not intended for agriculture purposes.

The seed may be picked up at the SWCD office, 1919 Steven Ave., from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
