(ALLENS CREEK) - Explore Allens Creek State Recreation area on a guided, off-trail hike on Wednesday, April 9.
The free, two-hour hike starts at 2:30 p.m. and will be led by naturalist Jill Vance.
Registration is required by Monday by emailing jvance@dnr.IN.gov with your name, phone number, and number of people in your group or by calling (812) 837-9967.
Most of the hike will be off-trail through the ravines of a peninsula on Monroe Lake.
Participants will look for spring wildflowers, crack open geodes and seek out signs of animal activity.
