Bloomington Man Dies From Apparent Heroin Overdose

(BLOOMINGTON) - 29-year-old Bloomington man died from an apparent heroin overdose Sunday.

The man's name is not being released at this time, pending notification of next of kin.

Bloomington police, firefighters and IU Health Bloomington Hospital personnel were called to a home in the 2400 block of East Third Street after a report of an unconscious man.

According to Bloomington Sgt. Joe Crider, a 21-year-old man told police the man came to visit him at his apartment and the two had both injected heroine. He says they also had taken Xanax.

Crider says the incident remains under investigation.
