Bloomfield Easter Egg Hunt Saturday

(BLOOMFIELD) - The Bloomfield Easter egg hunt will hit the Bloomfield Town Park Saturday with loads 5,000 candy-filled eggs, candy, games, and an appearance by the Easter Bunny.

The annual event is slated for 2 p.m. with registration to begin at 1 p.m.

The children will be put in groups: walking to 23 months, 2 to 3 year olds, 4 to 5 year olds, 6 to 8 year olds, and 9 to 12-years-old.

Ten to 15 prize bags will be given out to children in each age group.

Prize bags include bubbles, sidewalk chalk, coloring books, crayons, and other prizes.

The Easter Bunny will make an appearance on the fire truck around 1:15 p.m.

There will also be free games including a duck pick-up game, bunny toss, ring toss, and temporary tattoos."
Also look for the Greene County Sheriff Reserve to be at the open shelter house offering free fingerprinting for the children.

Everyone is welcome to attend.

The annual event is created through community effort.

The Dollar General in Bloomfield donated prizes and the Bloomfield State Bank donated 50 one dollar gold coins. Plus, the Bloomfield State Bank, Farmers and Mechanics, and Lyons Health and Living Center donated reusable totes.

It costs about a $1,000 to put on the Easter egg hunt. Both the Bloomfield Town Council and Bloomfield Apple Festival Committee donate $500 to the event.
