Volunteers For Friends Of Milwaukee Trail Will Meet Friday

Last updated on Thursday, April 3, 2014

(BEDFORD) - Volunteers for the Friends of the Milwaukee Trail will begin their First Friday of the month planning meeting Friday, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Healthy Balance Wellness Center, 1201 E. 5th Street.

"If you are not familiar with the bridge upgrade work done last year; this is a great first of the season project to familiarize yourself with what happens down the trail, meet other new volunteers and reconnect with our awesome 2013 crews," says Tina Jones, planner of Indiana Trails Fund, Inc.

The group is also looking for volunteers to do the sub-deck, sub-deck, pedestrian deck and add railing to the 182-foot-long O Street bridge in Bedford.

Volunteers will work on Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26 and if needed on Sunday, April 27 to complete the project.

The Friends of the Milwaukee Trail is raising funds to pay for the building materials for this bridge.

Those donating $5 or more will receive a window cling.

To donate or to learn more about the trail projects contact Marcey Phillips at (812-278-0511) or drop by Healthy Balance to make a donation.
