Last updated on Monday, March 10, 2014

(BEDFORD) - Two people were injured after an accident on Harold Smith Road early Saturday morning.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 17-year-old Jesse Spicer, was traveling west on Harold Smith Road at 2 a.m. when he lost control of his 1998 Chevrolet pickup truck going around the curve too fast.

Spicer told police he was traveling too fast to make the 90 degree curve and he had pushed one of his passengers into the floorboard of the truck because he knew he was going to crash. He also told police he had been drinking.

Police say the truck was pulled from the scene and hidden.

A friend was then called to the scene to pick up the passengers who were injured.

A passenger 19-year-old Breston Sowders, of Vallonia, was not injured.

When the friend arrived he took the others who were injured to the hospital. On the way to the hospital Sowders dialed 911 and reported the accident.

19-year-old Jennie Dotts, of Mitchell, was unresponsive and suffered multiple contusions and a possible concussion.

20-year-old Robyn Simpson, of Mitchell, had multiple contusions but refused to go to the hospital.
