(PAOLI) - Tuesday is the deadline to register for the upcoming “Tobacco: Good Agricultural Practices” program planned at the Orange County Community Center.
The session, sponsored by the Orange County office of the Purdue University Extension Service, is scheduled from 1-3 p.m. on April 8.
Registration can be arranged by calling Levi Berg, Extension educator, at (812) 723-7107 or by directing email to him at berg31@purdue.edu.
Robert Pearce, University of Kentucky tobacco specialist, will provide a burley tobacco update and will discuss good agricultural practices, protective equipment and record-keeping.
Tobacco producers who want Good Agricultural Practice credit must take their related cards to the meeting. Anyone needing to register for GAP Connections can find a membership form by logging on to www.gapconnections.com or can visit the Orange County Extension Office.
Private Applicator Re-certification Program credits also will be available for a $10 charge.
