Solsberry Woman Arrested After Throwing Beer Cans At Vehicles

Last updated on Friday, March 28, 2014

(SOLSBERRY) - A Solsberry woman was arrested Saturday night after she caused a disturbance in the parking lot of Grip’s Pizza.

According to a probable cause affidavit, ISP Master Trooper Eric Nash arrived at the scene to find two women in a fight and watched 31-year-old Cody Ratliff fall down an embankment on State Road 45 and land in a yard.

When Nash approached Ratliff, she was lying on her back, holding a cell phone above her face and tapping on it. Her purse was spilled on the ground.

Ratliff had scratches on her face and gravel marks and dust on her shoulder as well as bloody spots on the knees of her jeans.

Ratliff told police a woman in the restaurant had hit her in the face. But Nash says the woman had put her face in gravel and still had some stuck to her chin.

Police determined Nash had been drinking and she could not stand on her own.

A witness told police that Ratliff had consumed at least one beer and two shots before the bartender cut her off because she felt Ratliff was too intoxicated.

Witnesses told police Ratliff attempted to steal someone's jacket and then went into the parking lot, was screaming and throwing beer cans at cars.

When Ratliff was told police were on their way she began stumbling and landed on her face in the gravel parking before she started walking towards State Road 45.

Ratliff was arrested and taken to jail on charges of public intoxication endangering a person's life. During the book in process officers found four Clonazepan pills that Ratliff did not have a prescription for. She is now facing an additional charge of possession of a controlled substance.
