(SEYMOUR) - Police report that a Seymour man died in a house fire Thursday afternoon.
Seymour Police Chief Bill Abbott said that 47-year-old Stephen Speer died after a fire erupted at his residence in the Village Green Mobile Home Park off South O'Brien Street.
The cause of the fire, reported at 12:27 p.m., remains under investigation.
A second resident of the home escaped and was being examined for smoke inhalation at Schneck Medical Center, Abbott said.
