(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County residents can apply for three scholarships being administered through the Lawrence County Community Foundation.
In each case, the applications must be postmarked by April 1.
The Walk With Excellene Returning Women's Scholarship
The Walk with Excellence Returning Women's Scholarship applicant must be a returning woman student currently enrolled in or accepted to an accredited college, university or technical school after at least a one-year period of time since high school graduation.
The applicant must be a resident of Lawrence County who has lived here for at least one year prior to applying for the scholarship, and who maintains a local permanent mailing address.
Applicants must have a grade-point average of at least 3.0. All requested information must be submitted to the Lawrence County Community Foundation Scholarship Committee.
Visteon Bedford Plant Scholarship
To be considered for a Visteon Bedford Plant Scholarship, an applicant must be a child or stepchild or grandchild of a past Visteon Bedford plant employee (who was in good standing at time of Visteon closing).
The applicant must be accepted at an accredited college, university, vocational or technical school, have a grade-point average of at least 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) and demonstrate the ability to successfully complete a post-secondary education.
Preference will be given to children of a past Visteon Bedford plant employee who have completed at least one year of college.
Shirley McReynolds Scholarship
To be considered for the $2,500 Shirley McReynolds Scholarship, the applicant must be a graduating senior from Bedford North Lawrence High School or Mitchell High School, must intend to major in business and must have a grade-point average of 3.5 or better with recognition in other respects (honors and achievements).
