Spring Mill Fraternal Order Of Police Activities Announced

(MITCHELL) - The Spring Mill Fraternal Order of Police will award one $500 scholarships to a senior at Bedford North Lawrence, Mitchell and Orleans high schools who are pursuing careers in law enforcement.

The FOP is also participating in the Dream Playhouse Auction benefiting the Lawrence County Boys & Girls club. Their dream house will represent a train caboose. The Dream Playhouse Auction will be held April 12.

The F.O.P is also gearing up for their third annual golf scramble on Saturday May 17. The event is scheduled to begin at 1 pm at the StoneCrest Golf Course. Cost is $50 per person/$200 per team.

The cost includes the golf game, meal, and chance at prizes. The funds raised will benefit the Cops & Kids at Christmas program, as well scholarship funds and other philanthropic programs like Blessings in a Backpack and Becky's Place.

Lawrence County Police Detective Tyler Phillips appreciates the public's donations.

"The public's generosity is instrumental in our success," He added." Anyone who is interested in applying for associate membership is encouraged to contact us at (812) 849-2442 or by contacting any active member for an application. Associate dues are $25 annually."
