(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County Police are investigating a fatal accident that happened just after 8 p.m. Tuesday.
According to a press release the accident happened on U.S. 50 West, north of Blue Springs Cavern Road.
Police say that the vehicle went off the west side of the roadway, went over an embankment and struck a tree.
Police are not releasing the type of vehicle involved or the name of the victim at this time. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The name of the driver and the type of vehicle are not being released at this time pending identification of the victim and because the accident is still under investigation at this time.
