(ELNORA) - North Daviess girls basketball coach Ron Knepp has resigned.

Knepp stepped down after 8 years with the Cougars basketball program and the last five years as head coach.

After winning only nine games total in his first two years, he led North Daviess to a 41-24 record.

The Washington Herald Times reports that North Daviess' past two seasons ended with losses in the sectional to Barr-Reeve by a combined eight points, but the Cougars won 32 games in those two years.

Knapp is resigning because of a heavy work load and says that it is time to find someone new to take over the program.
