(SALEM) - The name of one Washington County candidates for the May 6 primary election has been removed from the ballot.

The election board voted to remove the name of Bob Hoar after his opponent for county assessor Jason Cockerill filed the challenge.

The board determined Hoar was not qualified to run for the office because he did not have a level three certification for assessing.

Laurie Jackson, chairman of the local Republican party, says Hoar has the first two levels of certification.

The name of Charlie L. Pendleton has also been removed, due to his death. Pendleton had sought precinct committeeman for East Pierce.

At the state level the name of "Teaparty" Trent Feuerbach, a Republican from Bloomington, who had filed for the U.S. House representing the ninth district seat currently held by Todd Young was removed by the Indiana Election Commission because he used the nickname "Teaparty."
